Wrapping up the Man City transfer news, rumours and gossip in the 2022 summer window.

Man City expecting Chelsea bid for Sterling

Manchester City are expecting to field an opening offer from Chelsea for Raheem Sterling after Thomas Tuchel engaged the England international over how he'd fit in at Stamford Bridge.

The forward heads a shortlist of the manager's attacking targets and enters the final year of his contract with the Premier League champions, who are grateful for his service and will not obstruct his desire for greater minutes and status elsewhere.

Pep Guardiola has repeatedly stated "I don't like to keep players that are unhappy" and is open to allowing Sterling's exit this summer, even to a rival, on condition that an acceptable bid in the region of £50m is tabled.

Chelsea have yet to open any formal dialogue with Sterling, who is one of their primary targets.

Arsenal 'cautiously optimistic' of completing Jesus deal

Arsenal are "cautiously optimistic" of getting a deal for Manchester City's Gabriel Jesus over the line.

The north London club put in nearly six months of work with the forward's representative Marcello Pettinati to ensure they were in pole position to recruit him from the Premier League champions this summer.

Jesus indicated his desire to move to the Emirates at the start of June and the only hindrance so far has been the distance between the valuations of both clubs.

City keen on Cucurella

City are interested in Brighton left wing-back Marc Cucurella.

The 23-year-old enjoyed a hugely successful first season with the south coast club after joining from Getafe in a deal worth around £15m last summer.

The Premier League champions are looking to strengthen in other areas after the arrival of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Brighton do not want to let the Spaniard depart and it would take a huge offer for them to sell Cucurella, who has four years remaining on his contract.

City sign Haaland

City have announced the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth £51m.

City have paid the 21-year-old's release clause and expect to pay £85.5m in total when agent fees, signing bonus and other costs are taken into account.

The Norway international has signed a five-year deal with the Premier League champions.
